About working with me

Welcome to a community of hospitality business owners who are hungry, humble and smart

No one's trying to be bigger or better than anybody else. Everyone brings a different strength. Together you help each other grow.

Building a better business doesn’t require you to be a unicorn

Every brilliant hospitality operator has done it hard because everyone has things that don’t come naturally to them. For example, numbers are my strength, but marketing’s tough for me, and I have to be really disciplined.

Everything is hard when you do it for the first time

I know how painful it is to figure things out on your own. Building my first stock management system took me six months. Now I can build a system in two days and I share all the shortcuts I’ve learned with you.

“Liz is a powerhouse, an inspiration and a game-changer. As newbies to hospo we were six months in and burned out when Covid hit. Thank god, we had the great good fortune to meet and start working with Liz and without question she has been the secret to our success through some crazy, rough and uncertain times.”

My promise to you when we work together

To bring the integrity of years of hospo experience

I’m a hospo business owner like you. I’ve owned restaurants since I was 25. I never give advice I haven't tested, and I don’t give silver bullet answers with no guts.

To give with kindness and generosity

The culture of hospitality starts with us. Hospitality given with ease and generosity makes every moment more meaningful. I aim to give my time and knowledge with generosity too.

“I’ve worked with Liz for eight years. We’ve climbed mountains together. Liz is humble. She always celebrates the wins that we get and she never centres herself. She celebrates everything we've done and our teams have done. But we all know so much of it has come from her.”

To stay hungry, humble, and smart on your behalf

I'm a magpie who hunts for cool ideas and applies them to hospitality businesses. I love continuous improvement and I’m never satisfied with status quo. There’s always a better way to do things.

To take responsibility to smooth the road for you

Hospo business owners are less stressed when they have support. Calm business owners are more creative. They’re better leaders, their businesses are more successful and survive better in tough times.

Work with someone who walks the talk

I’ve worked in hospo since 18. I was 25 when I bought my first restaurant. Then one cold day in the middle of winter, nine years into working as head chef and running the show, I'd had enough. I was tired. I'd fallen out of love with my business. But I had no more tricks up my sleeve, so I hired a coach.

Within 18 months we'd improved our profit 220%. Some successes were hard graft. Some were happy accidents, like telling everyone on my team everything as I learned. At the time, I did that because I was excited. Now I know that’s a powerful strategy to bring your team along as you grow.

I’ve been coaching hospo business owners since 2016. I’m a hospo business owner like you. I've been through many seasons of hospitality and I still stress test my own advice daily. Get someone in your corner who understands what you’re going through and knows how you feel.

It’s normal to be sceptical about coaching

But you deserve to grow to be the best version of yourself. You deserve to feel like a good leader. You deserve to live the dream of owning a successful business. And it’s unreasonable to expect yourself to have all the answers.

You think you lack discipline when really you lack clarity

Hospo business owners often confuse overwhelm for lack of motivation. The real problem is you've too many balls in the air. You need somebody to help you sort out your priorities. Once you’ve cleared out the clutter, you’re away.
